What a good lawyer does: help people!
I am a lawyer, otherwise known as an attorney, and my job is to help people with their legal problems, and listen to their problems with attention and compassion. I give people advice, communicate for people, represent them in court, and mediate disputes. I usually try to find solutions for legal disputes without going to court, and if that doesn't work then I do my best to advocate my client's position in court. My goal is to use the court system to help the people it should be working for, and to make sure that the system is not abused to hurt people.
My law firm is located in downtown Washington, Pennsylvania, which is approximately 30 miles south of Pittsburgh. I also practice from Cranberry Township, PA, which is North of Pittsburgh. With these bases of operation, I practice in Pennsylvania state courts in several counties in Western Pennsylvania, including Washington, Allegheny (Pittsburgh), Butler, Beaver, Westmoreland, and Greene counties. About My Practice:
My practice is a general practice, meaning that I practice law in several different areas. Much of my practice includes family law, which is mainly divorce, child support, and custody law. I also have a considerable consumer bankruptcy practice, and my office operates as a debt relief agency, helping people to file for relief under the bankruptcy code. Quite a bit of my practice also includes estate law, which includes drafting wills, powers of attorney and living wills. I also handle cases which involve criminal defense, and unemployment compensation. Another area of law that I have recently focused on has been oil and mineral rights law, and helping people to negotiate oil and gas leases in southwest Pennsylvania.
